A free seminar presented by VillagesOKC will bring together financial, legal and banking professionals to help older adults ensure their long-term financial plans align with their intentions.

The Positive Aging Seminar, titled “Money Matters: Are You Truly Set for Success?” will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on March 12 at the Metro Tech Conference Center, 1900 Springlake Dr. The event is designed to help adults understand common financial planning gaps, clarify important decisions and avoid confusion that can arise later in life.

Organizers say many people assume their financial plans are complete, only to discover overlooked details that can create complications for themselves or their families. The seminar will explore issues such as ensuring trusted decision-makers have access to necessary information, identifying questions to ask before retirement and confirming that financial wishes are carried out as intended.

Julie Davis, marketing project manager at Concordia Life Plan Community, will moderate a panel of local experts representing financial planning, banking and estate law.

Mary Williams, Vice President of Treasury Management and Business Development at First Bethany Bank and Trust, will provide perspective on financial readiness and the importance of proper account management. Williams joined the bank in 2023 after it was designated a Women Depository Institution by the Federal Reserve. She has contributed to the bank’s strategic planning efforts and helped co-found its Culture Committee to strengthen employee support and engagement.

Williams also serves on the Oklahoma Bankers Association’s Emerging Leaders Committee and is known for mentoring others and supporting local businesses. She remains active in professional and community organizations throughout Oklahoma City.

Angela Vetrano, a Certified Financial Planner with Edward Jones, will discuss retirement planning from a personal and professional standpoint. Before entering the financial services field, Vetrano spent 18 years as a registered nurse, where she said she learned the value of listening and understanding people’s concerns during critical moments.

She now works with individuals and couples facing major life transitions, including raising families, caring for aging parents and preparing for retirement. Her experience in health care, she said, helps her approach financial planning with empathy and attention to each client’s unique needs.

Roberto L. Seda, JD, Owner/Managing Attorney at Seda Law Firm, will address estate planning, probate and guardianship considerations. Seda’s path to law was non-traditional. Before attending the University of Oklahoma College of Law, he gained valuable management experience, working for eight years at General Motors and Spirit Aerosystems. In addition to his law degree, Roberto holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Oklahoma City University.

He serves as a board member on various local committees and is an active participant in several sections of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Outside of law, Seda and his wife, Becky, co-own multiple businesses, including the Senior Living Truth Series, a monthly educational program for seniors.

The seminar aims to provide practical guidance and help attendees feel more confident about their financial future. Organizers say the session is especially valuable for those approaching retirement, as well as anyone who wants to ensure their financial decisions reflect their long-term goals.

The event is open to the public and will offer attendees an opportunity to hear directly from professionals and ask questions about financial and estate planning. Registration is available online at www.villagesokc.org/positiveaging or by calling (405) 972-6849.
