Mary Yarber

Mary retired from Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children as executive assistant to the vice president of development after serving over 22 years. Like most retirees, she wondered how to serve others.

Within three months following retirement, she met Marilyn Olson and found a new place to serve. The work was the answer she was looking for; however, she says the bonus is the joy she receives being involved with the staff, volunteers, and members of VillagesOKC.

Staying active and involved is important. Volunteering for the Civic Center, Parenting Services, and Homebound Ministries is great. However, her greatest joy is her four lovable and gifted grandchildren, and her car tag says it all – “FunMimi.”
